Sr. Staff Engineer
The Sr. Staff Engineer will lead and conduct research initiatives related to novel heavy fuel engines and applications.
Duties:
- Develop solutions for advanced technology engines.
- Lead clean-sheet design of new components and systems.
- Perform engine simulation work (structural, thermal, hydraulic, fluid)
- Develop and analyze laboratory tests to validate concepts
- Advise junior engineers and review/approve designs.
You are:
- An innovative, out-of-the-box thinker and hands-on problem solver.
- Technically deep, with experience in design and performance of rotary equipment, thermo-fluid systems, and combustion engines.
- Diligent, professional, and exceptional verbal and written communicator.
- Creative and up for a challenge; our goal is to build the world’s most efficient and power-dense engines, and you will be leading the way.
It's a plus if you are or have:
- Experience leading project teams in a R&D environment, from concept to production.
- Experience specifically in combustion engine optimization.
- Deep understanding of and ability to apply thermodynamic cycles and combustion recipes to modern CI and SI engines.
- Expertise in one or more efficiency improvement technologies (boosting, EGR, HCCI, emissions certification, etc).
- MS or Ph.D
- Able to direct the use of CAD and simulation tools such as SolidWorks, GT-Power, CONVERGE CFD, thermal and structural FEA.
