Composite Manufacturing Specialist / Engineer

The Composite Manufacturing Specialist/Engineer will work on detailed design and prototyping of aerospace components related to fixed-wing VTOL/UAS aircraft.
***Applicants should have 2+ years’ experience with composite manufacturing in a fast-paced, product development environment***
Duties:
  • Design and fabricate Carbon-fiber/Kevlar/Epoxy parts including aircraft wings, fairings and other aircraft hardware components.
  • Design and fabricate the molds associated with the above components.
  • Work with the lead engineer to develop the manufacturing space, specialized equipment, and processes for composite manufacturing.
You are:
  • Hands-On; Not shy about designing, fabricating and testing composite aerospace components beyond theory (preference will be given to candidates with physical composite product / prototype portfolios)
  • Innovative, out-of-the-box thinker, and self-learner
  • Proficient with the use of mechanical design and analysis tools (Solidworks, Catia, Ansys or similar)
  • Orientated for excellence / detail in getting high quality / visually appealing results in composite manufacturing
Preferred Skills Include:
  • FEA and related computational skills geared towards design and optimization of composite aircraft structures
  • Comfortable with CNC, machining and power tools  
  • Documentation, analysis and presentation with MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
