Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Manufacturing Engineer to join our client’s team. The successful candidate will work closely with design engineers, internal and external machine shops, and our engine build team to ensure high-quality and efficient production of (challenging!) prototype rotary engine parts and assemblies.
Responsibilities:
  • Design, implement, and optimize manufacturing processes 
  • Troubleshoot technical issues in the internal machine shop
  • Maintain quality controls appropriate for the size, scope, and timeline of each project
  • Provide technical support for introduction of new components into supply chain, including Solidworks fixture/tooling design
  • Procure materials, tooling, components, etc. from external suppliers
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing supply base, while sourcing and evaluating potential new relationships
  • Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts 
  • Monitor supplier performance
  • Analyze market trends and recommend strategies to reduce costs and mitigate manufacturing risks
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in manufacturing engineering and procurement, working with high precision metal parts
  • Advanced understanding of manufacturing processes including machining, heat treatment, welding, coatings, and additive
  • Proficiency with CAD/CAM 
  • Experience with procurement, supplier management, contracts.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
